Reading data from the CAN bus - Electric vehicles
2023-11-10Seeing the growing popularity of electric vehicles, we have expanded the range of parameters read from the CAN bus of these vehicles through our series 10 terminals. A richer set of read parameters is available starting from version 3.0.11 of the CAN module. The newly monitored logistics parameters enable more efficient management of electric vehicle maintenance. By monitoring the battery status and other critical parameters, it’s possible to plan regular inspections and maintenance in a more precise manner, minimizing the risk of breakdowns and repair costs.
What parameters were added in version 3.0.11?
battery condition | |
battery charge cycles | |
instantaneous battery current
instantaneous battery power |
total energy consumed (while driving and idling)
total recovered energy (regeneration)
total energy charged to the battery
remaining time to full battery charge (passenger vehicles from the PSA Group only) |
Parameters such as battery condition, battery charge cycles, instantaneous battery current, instantaneous battery power, total recovered energy (regeneration), total energy charged to the battery, and remaining time to full battery charge require additional implementation in the Series 10 terminal software. If you are interested in visualizing the above parameters in your systems, please contact us to determine the method of transmitting this data within the data frames sent by the terminal. The parameter for the total energy consumed (while driving and idling) is available by default in the data frame within the fields where fuel consumption is displayed for internal combustion engine vehicles.
