The Expander Pro module represents an advanced extension compared to the Expander. In addition to providing extra inputs and outputs, its main advantage is the support for the CAN bus, not limited to automotive applications, from which typical logistic data can be obtained. For instance, it can be applied in a waste collection vehicle where the CAN bus provides information about the time of bin emptying and the type of emptied bin, or in a flow meter that communicates via CAN, exchanging data with the vehicles computer. The Pro version of the Expander module is intended for dedicated projects that cannot be realized using the standard CAN module utilized in S10 terminals. Another distinction between the Expander and Expander Pro is the inclusion of three additional UART RS232 TTL ports, allowing the simultaneous connection of three additional accessories, such as a mixer drum rotation sensor, a driver behavior monitoring camera, and a Bluetooth module. Without this module, handling three accessories simultaneously would be impossible. |
