DTCREAD - reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)

DTC codes play a significant role in identifying vehicle issues. Each unique DTC number precisely indicates a specific disruption in the operation of various systems. They are like the language of cars, enabling quick localization of faults related to systems such as fuel or braking. This is an effective tool that shortens diagnosis time and enables quick problem identification.

However, its worth emphasizing that merely retrieving a DTC code is just the beginning of the repair process. Precise interpretation requires deeper analysis, taking into account the vehicles operating conditions, repair history, and the specifics of the system. Understanding the context and collaborating with advanced diagnostic systems are crucial to effectively resolve the issue and restore the vehicle to full functionality.

Reading DTC error codes through S10 terminals

To meet the growing demand for efficient vehicle diagnostics, we have introduced an innovative command, DTCREAD, in the Mar 4 2024 22:50:53 software update, enabling the retrieval of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Detailed information about the command can be found in the technical documentation on the partner service. This function has been designed to facilitate the process of identifying potential vehicle issues. Simply send the command to the terminal when the vehicles ignition is on, and in return, we will receive error codes, provided they are actually present at that moment. The function currently works in most passenger vehicles, as long as the terminal is connected to the CAN bus according to the dedicated installation scheme for the specific vehicle model.

The ability to retrieve error codes has become a crucial tool in fast and effective diagnostics. Users will now easily obtain vital information about the technical condition of their vehicle, allowing for quicker response to any faults and directing repair actions in the right direction. The mentioned function is another step towards streamlining diagnostic processes and increasing the efficiency of vehicle maintenance.

In the future, we plan to expand the error code reading capability to include commercial vehicles, trucks, and construction machinery.
